House by the stream

The proposal deals with the structural modifications, extension and extension of a family house in Prague-Liboc from the end of the 19th century, which in the 1990s underwent a radical reconstruction and a series of insensitive
architectural interventions. Materially, the design is based on the current state and develops it. The addition of the original family house to the street is connected with the overall rehabilitation of the appearance and clearly prescribes the material solution - ground floor
it forms horizontal grooves ending in a cornice above which the house is finished in smooth light plaster with corner pilasters. The traditional morphology and appearance are complemented by window sashes on the upper floor. Later materially inappropriate addition to the yard
it will be largely removed and replaced by a single-story new building with an attic and a gable roof. The courtyard extension has a more puristic appearance and an awning is placed in front of it, which visually reduces it. The whole house is color-unified with light gray plaster with a warm shade; monochromaticity is also maintained by the plumbing elements and concrete folded covering. This stereotype is broken by wooden windows in a natural color, vertical battens and sliding shutters. Four residential units are designed in the house - three are accessible via a common staircase in a building parallel to the street and one in a courtyard extension with an individual entrance.
