Multifunctional building in Horoměřice
The construction is based on the urbanistic-architectural study of the centre of Horoměřice. The mass of the building is defined on the south side by Velvarská Street, on the west side by the pedestrian street and the view axis between the existing office and the castle with the Chapel of St. Anne, on the north the mass is defined by the square area and on the east side by K Rybníku Street. The above-ground part of the building is divided into three parts - the southern building serves as an administration building, the middle and northern buildings serve as residential buildings with commercial space on the ground floor. A semi-public space is created between these objects, to which the apartments are oriented. The building is richly articulated with openwork roofs, creating a specific silhouette that emphasises the importance of the buildings for the subsequent development of the new village centre. The roofs have been designed as pitched roofs to reflect the surrounding buildings and the small town character of the site. The pitch of the roofs is set to allow sunlight to penetrate between the buildings. The distinctive massing is made consistent by the uniform material treatment - the facades are of grey facing brickwork and the roofs are of grey concrete tiles. The pure masses are further articulated by windows in a regular grid that varies according to functional use. This grid is accentuated by red accessories, louvres in the office building and louvres and balconies in the residential areas.
