Litija valley - conceptual landscape study

Design propose conceptual landscape solution for the valley of Litija. Main idea is to create highway bypass around the town of Litija in order to solve unbearable traffic condition in the valley and in the town itself and to create conditions for active tourism around the river and in the mountains surrounding the town. Highway bypass is led on the hill side with tunnels and open sections alternating. Above the town there is lookout platform with the parking and the rest station for passing drivers to relax.
The design proposes programme for the whole valley. Programme is mainly focused on active recreation function. Design creates connection between the town, valley, and surrounding mountains. New hiking and cycling trails are proposed with multiple viewing towers and viewing points. Around the river in the area of flood risk, where the residential development is prohibited, design propose new recreations area with various recreation and sport programme to further support of tourism.
